Your online resource for Walgreens deals
Sorry for all the exclamation points but I am so excited about free ice cream! Here’s how it works:
First, I see on the ad preview that Ben and Jerry’s pints are 2/$6 next week, 1/4-1/9.
Now, go to this link and sign up to be a Chunk Spelunker (hehe!) and join the mailing list. They will then send you an email with a ‘bricks’ coupon (mine came in seconds) and you can print two of these by simply hitting the back button when you are done printing the first one. The coupon is for $3 off any pint of ice cream, frozen yogurt or sorbet.
So then you take yourself and your coupons down to our beloved Walgreens and get yourself two free pints! One for yourself and one to share. Or not. What you do with your ice cream is your business.
Thanks to Mercedes at Common Sense With Money for the heads up about the coupon!
PS.
To those who won the giveaway a while back, I’ve been dealing with weather and family emergencies. All your stuff is in the mail today.
I went to Walgreens on my lunchbreak Wednesday and yesterday to participate in the Holiday RR deal (missed it last week) and boy oh boy was it fun! As you might have read, your total only has to be $25 BEFORE coupons/RRs to get the $5 RR. One thing my co-worker and I noticed after we got back:
Her holiday RR rolled into another one. I didn’t think this would work, but it did. She paid with a Robitussin RR and a holiday RR and got another holiday one back. YMMV on this, but it worked for her. If I had known that, my OOP would have been a lot lower! I tried it myself yesterday and it worked!

Yes, Walgreens made me use their $5 coupon TWICE yesterday
Or maybe I should blame the Progresso Soup!
When we went to rectify my mistake from Friday night, I found some Mizzou (University of Missouri - Columbia) merchandise on the shelf. But of course I didn’t have any $5 coupons with me at the time. After a trip to the University (we didn’t want to go back home) to print some off, we went to another Wags store that was closer - and of course they didn’t have Mizzou hats or teddy bears there. Eventually, after running more errands, we ended back at Walgreens Store #1 and we used 2 x $5 coupons on the following items:

We got (in 2 separate transactions):
- 4 x Baseball Caps - for my Dad & Uncles
- 2 x Teddy Bears - for my niece & a family friend’s son
- 3 x Christmas Tins - I plan to make baked goods for our friends so these tins are perfect
- Ramen Noodles (not pictured) - we needed something to get us over $20 & my husband wanted some
Luckily my Australian relatives don’t read this blog - then they’ll know what part of their present will be. Nothing like Missouri paraphernalia to ensure they don’t forget about us here in little ol’ Missouri
Overall, we’re really happy with our purchases and Christmas shopping is nearly done. Thanks, Walgreens!
Did anyone else make a last dash trip to use a $5 coupon yesterday/last night? What did you score? Share by leaving a comment below.
P.S. Our Sunday paper was not delivered today
Makes me sad - so not sure what are in my inserts. I hope your paper arrived!

So, how did everybody go with their $5 off coupon? Good, bad, ugly?
Mine was ugly
. I stuffed up big time - I forgot to give the 4/$5 7-Day Coupon for the Progresso Soup, which meant I paid more than double for all that soup instead of the planned 60c. I knew something was “off” when the total after coupon was much higher but I was just “off my game”. Trust me, I’m kicking myself about it. I’ve never returned an item knowing that it was my fault that I didn’t hand over a 7-Day coupon - has anyone done this before and been successful in getting credit?
Anyway, I ended up getting the Kellogg’s Cereal (Hmm…Special K with Red Berries), Progresso Soup, Energizer Batteries and some Arthritis Cream for my Grandmother. After all that, I still have some $3.50 on my Gift Card (which should really be $8.50 if I didn’t make my mistake).
So, how did YOU go at Walgreens this week? I think the consensus was that it was a pretty quiet week, especially for a $5 coupon. Nevertheless, I’m sure you made a Walgreens trip! Leave a comment below with what you scored at Walgreens.
