Well here is my scenerio so far:
Extreme Energy 3.99 (btw this is actually pretty gross!)
Loreal Cleaner 6.99
Gillette Shampoo x 2/5
Toothbrush 4.49
2 boxes of grits BOGO 2.29
Total 22.76
Coupons:
Loreal -1
Gillette-4
Grits -1
New Total 16.76
Then I will probably get more club crackers or nutri grain bars at 2/5 to get the total over 20
Final Total=21.76-5/20=
16.76
Then I will get 15.98 in rebates( + 10%=1.59) and 6.49 in RR for a total profit of 7.30
Not to shabby! Thanks WAGS!
Kim, just exactly how gross is it? I don’t know if I want to subject my husband to it
Great scenario! The only thing I can think of putting on my list is more Dr. Pepper!!!
My Scenario is HERE:

Briana @ Bargain Briana´s last blog post..A Walgreens Funny….
I just discovered your site 2 weeks ago. Thanks for all the good info!
Here are my senarios that involve things I actually want:)
*Lysol wipes 3.99 (1.00 coupon and 1.00 rebate)=2.99
before rebate
*2 Special K bars (these are delicious) 2/$5 (2RR)= 5.00 before RR
*3 Childrens Tylenol liquid (1.5o ESC takes 4.50 off, 3.00MC) produces $5 RR (maybe the extra $2RR)=7.47 before RR
*Loreal Cleanser FAR item 7.99 (1.00MC)= 6.99 before rebate
=22.45 (and I can use one of my $2RR’s from before to make it 20.45)
-5.00
=15.45
Get 7 (or hopefully 9) in RR and 8.99 in Rebates
=overage of .54 or 2.54
angie´s last blog post..Don’t forget to submit your Walgreens and Rite Aid rebates
I hope the Extreme Energy aren’t too gross! I just put some in a care package for my brother-in-law to help on his 16 hour road trip with 2 and 4 year olds in tow. I guess I’ll know if he’s not talking to me after the trip…
This represents a combination of this week’s sales and next. I’m testing how it works to “double dip” between the two weeks once the on-duty manager has turned on the new ads. My big question is how the RR will work (or not.)
Oral-B Toothbrush 4.49 - .75/1 (9/28 P&G) = 3.74 & 4.49RR
6 SB Wipes 15.00 – 3xB1G1F IP = 7.50 & 6.00 MIR#27
SB Action Scrubber 3.99 – 1/1 MQ = 2.99 & 3.99 manu MIR from recent insert
Crest toothpaste 1.99 – 1/1 IVC – 1/1 (9/28 P&G) = 0
RoC: 1 Anti-aging cleanser $5.99 – 5/1 = .99
2 Cleansing pads $14.98 – 2×5/1 = 4.98
& 10RR for next RoC buy
Total after coupons = $20.20 – 5/20 = 15.20 oop & 14.49RR & 9.99 MIR
If I need to substitute any of these items, I plan on buying Ziplock zipper bags 2/$5 + B1G1F (8/24 SS) + $1/1 (9/14 SS) = 2/$1.50, Deerfield cheese 8oz. 2/$3 or a couple other items we need. Always pays to have a back up list!

Ellen´s last blog post..CVS $5/$25
Oh my goodness, I need some kind of scenario algorithm to come up with my deals. I need to get:febreze, mr clean erasers, swiffer items, infant’s tylenol,2 oral bs and 4 fusions, and mnms fun size. And diapers.
How in the world do you people come up with these? I find some of my deals fall apart if they hinge on other deals and those items are out of stock. Last trip, I put together 3 different scenarios to find the best deal, and that took forever and would’ve required 7 transactions. That’s too many to do in one day, right?
Great scenarios, everyone! And back-ups too.
I’m gonna try to work some out for myself…all this talk has me excited
Kristin, do you happen to know if either of the stores in our town starts their Sunday sales early - like Saturday evening?
I’m thinking of going to the South store at around 9pm tomorrow and see if prices have changed over already. They close at 10pm so maybe the registers will quote Sunday prices by then. It’ll cut our time at the Festival on Saturday, but it’ll be worth it
@Kristen-
I have done 5-6 deals in one day. you can do it, thats just how you get a reputation. haha
I find my deals can fall apart in-store too. So I will stand in an isle with no traffic and sort the items in my cart until i works out. Fortunatly at the Beauty counter in my home town, Lisa will ring up 5 different transactions for me without batting an eye or giving me a snotty lecture (which I have gotten before @ other walgreens)
If they cant make a register program that works without all these hoops to jump through, then we wouldnt have to split up transactions. they cant stop you from going through the line 20 times everyday. They might not ring up multiples in a row if there are people waiting or they might try to push you out, like i had one lady do. I just extend courtesy at the register. if i see someone waiting and my transaction is being problematic, i just have them void it and step away from the register to allow the next customer. I find once not under pressure, i can make it work better. I have found that most cashiers will ring up 2-3 rounds of things seperately without issue of you ask them before they start scanning.
I plan to do a test purchase on the Sunday sale Sat night. If it works then I will gather my items and run them through.
Ha! I’m not the only one hiding in an aisle muttering to myself, rearranging products and flipping through coupons, trying to make it all work?
The most I’ve ever done was 3 when it was slow and I still got the annoyed look (from an assistant manager, no less!).
Patricia, I don’t know if ours change over or not. I usually go Sunday morning to make sure I get my deals before products run out. It’s usually when I can get a babysitter, too. I will be going sometime tomorrow, I haven’t decided which store to hit. Depending, I could go to both. All my deals are dependent on them having toothbrushes and razors, so we’ll see.
I will post my scenarios later when work is slow, I have 4 transactions and 2 are small so it shouldn’t be a problem. The only snag I kept hitting was fillers b/c I had too many coupons when rolling RR’s.
Uh oh… last weekend I actually set a new record and did *10* transactions… hopefully I’m not the only nut out there that does that many. My husband thinks I need to go to a support group or something (but he enjoys the stuff I bring home!)
Fortunately my WAGs is very nice about it and always lets me check out at the cosmetics counter (my request) so I don’t hold up other customers.
I think, that in a desire to save $5 this round, I am trying to create stuff to buy that I may not need just to save money.
One thing I wanted to point out, is that Walgreens has unadvertised sales and RR. Make sure you walk down all the isles looking at the tags for the week. I have found multiple deals that way on stuff I hadnt been looking at because it wasnt in the sale ad.
I wasn’t going to use the $5/$20 this time (like Erin said, buying stuff I don’t need just to use the Q), but I saw ZiCam BOGO at my store. It’s reg $11.99 but today was $10.99 and you’d get an extra. So I was halfway there. I needed Lindt chocolate and the RR toothbrush, so, no prob! Also, in addition to the toothbrush RR, I also got an RR for $5, but I don’t know what prompted it! (I also “bought” Pert and Crest toothpaste–free after IVCs and MQs).
An extra $5RR?!? That is SWEET! I wonder what triggered it…
Could it be the ZiCam? And I thought the Crest toothpaste FREEBIE doesn’t start till Sunday?! Do tell…
It would be awesome if it was the zicam because I love the stuff, am out, cold season is coming and I have 4 manu q’s!
Also, usually the RR will say ‘courtesy of (company)’ and that might help determine where the extra came from.
Okay, I’m already thinking about tweaking these but here’s what I came up with while sitting in my car in the shade on my lunchbreak:
#1
5 softsoap bodywashes
-$5 IVC
1 Oral B
-$0.75 manu
1 Fusion razor
-$4 manu
$21.18
-$5/20 coup
$16.18 (Can’t take credit for this one, found it on HCW)
Get 18.50 in RR
#2
2 Dawn $1.50 each
-$1.50 7day
-.25 manu x2
1 Swiffer wetjet 17.99
1 Swiffer duster kit 3.49
-$3 swiffer manu
-$1 duster manu
-3.49 FWYB manu (wetjet, get duster)
2 Mr clean erasers $2.49 each
-.50 manu x2
3 Gilette fusion shave gel (small) $1.99
-$1 manu x3
4 bags M&m’s fun size (I think they’re 3.50 each, anyone?)
-$1/2 manu x2
3 Infant’s tylenol $4.99 each
-$5/3 manu
-$4.50 IVC
2 BAN solids BOGO $3.49
That brings the total to $42.95, less $23 in RR (4 of them) (I have a leftover toothbrush one) puts us at $19.95. I’ll throw in 3 cheap fillers to get my coupons to stuff ratio in order and once you take off the $5/20 we’re at around 16-17 bucks, which is the sale price of the Swiffer wetjet. The rest is basically free, and since I was planning to get the wetjet anyway (soon to be crawling baby + hardwood and tile) it’s great! Plus I walk away with $10 in RR’s.
#3
1 oral b 4.49
-0.75 manu
1 fusion razor
-4 manu
1 Benefiber Strawberry kiwi $7.50 (ish?)
-$5 IVC
-$2 Manu
2 800 oz Febreze fabric spray $4.99 each
2 500 oz ” $?.?? each
-.50 manu
- cost of 2 500oz (WYB manu)
2 Febreze noticeables kits $6.99 each
-$5 manu x2
That puts us at $23.69 less $5 makes $18.69 (give or take) and $13.50 in RR’s.
#4
That last Fusion with coupon, $4.99 before tax less $4.50 oral b RR=$0.49 and get $4 in RR.
This leaves me with $23 in RR’s for next week’s deals or a bunch of soda or something.
That makes our OOP $52.21 pre-tax, roughly $56.38 after taxes. I have $2.69 left on my giftcard making it $53.69 which seems like a lot but that’s a TON of stuff. If you factor in my leftover RR’s it’s $30.69! I’ll also get $4 back in rebates for the M&M’s. So now we’re at $26.69 which is not bad in my book.
Whew!
Woah, Kristin! Well done.
Can I watch you while you buy all this?!?!
@Kristin-
5 softsoap bodywashes
-$5 IVC
can you do this in 1 transaction with the IVC?? I thought you could only do one at a time when it comes to the same exact product. 1 per transaction. Like on the toothpaste next week, can i buy the 3 i planned to get with IVC’s and ManQ’s=Free in the same transaction? I was planning to spread it over 3 transactions.
@ Kristin
Just to throw another monkey wrench in Tran #1, there are additional $1.00 off coupons on the softsoap body wash.
http://www.colgate.com/app/Colgate/US/PC/SpecialOffers.cvsp?Section=PersonalCare
save $5 and throw something else into your transaction.
Erin, with the IVC Q - YES you can buy all three Crest Toothpaste in one transaction using ONE IVC. Most Walgreens don’t honor that limit - unless your Manager does!
And since this isn’t an RR item, you might aswell buy all 3 in one transaction.
so 3 Crest IVC’s in the one transaction or are you saying I can only use one and they are supposed to times it by 3?
You’ll only need to hand over one of those IVCs for the Crest. The register will automatically take off $1 each Crest that you buy - however many that you buy in that one transaction.
When I first started out, I gave multiple IVCs of the same one and it would beep after the first one. The register is smarter than the cashier because she couldn’t figure out why it beeped.
Ok here is how gross the Energy Shots are… I bought 2 packages with 2 in each one and I still have 3 bottles left. I plan on giving it to my college kid when she comes home. Maybe it will help her stay awake and study….or she can just give it away to friends. = )
Is it milky or fizzy? I’m so intrigued now…
My Husband buys those energy shots when we drive to Florida over spring break! So I went ahead and bought some today!
Briana @ Bargain Briana´s last blog post..A Walgreens Funny….
It’s like a monster in me, i HAD to go to walgreens tonight and satisfy that shopping urge and use my $5/20 even though i had planned not to
Here is what I got (thanks Kristin for the idea on the bodywash and Patricia for the info on IVC’s!!!)
5 Softsoap Body Wash @ $3.49=$17.49
-$5 IVC
-$2 Online ManQ @ softsoap.com
Total $10.49
3 Childrens Tylenol @ $4.99=14.97
-$4 IVC
-$3 Man Q
Total $7.47
1 Oral B Cross Action Toothbrush @ $4.49
Grand total before coupons: $36.95 (Reg Price $41.91)
minus Man Q’s= $22.41
minus $5/20= $17.41 OOP
I recieved $19.50 Back in Register Reward to use for my shopping frenzie planned for next week!!!
Lisa, My favorite beauty counter lady was amazed! she didnt know that IVC’s would work like that. she thought something was wrong with the register! hahaha
I think she is going shopping for the same deal when she gets off work!
I can’t really remember. It is not milky. It just really burns your throat when you drink it and it does not taste good. The good thing is …. the bottle is small so you can drink it quick. I was actually a little scared to have a 6 hour burst of energy so I only drank half of the bottle then put the other half in the fridge and drank it the next day. (which I think made it a little better ) I really didn’t notice feeling more energetic either. I would just go ahead and get it and try it. Its free so it can’t hurt right!
Well my visit didnt quite in as planned, but I still made off with a goodly amount of stuff. The main problem was that the infants tylenol was not included in the sale like I had been told. I also decided to skip the febreze bc we didnt really need it, sale or no. Thats a hard lesson for newer couponers to learn.
