Hi Dani!

I was afraid I wouldn’t be allowed to buy a GC using a GC, is that correct? Even though this GC is a special Rechargeable Rebate one?! Hmm…

I guess if I’m not allowed it’s not too bad, as long as the cashiers are happy to manually enter my GC number - though it does take extra time (that doesn’t bother me but it might irk other customers behind me).

Not much on my list this week. I need a slow week!

1) Dimetapp- need the allergy elixir for my son, AND it’s a moneymaker. Whoo-hoo!
2) Skippy- I usually don’t buy this peanut butter, but my son’s school is having a food drive and I have coupons (DUH, of course I have coupons! lol) which, combined with the RR, make this a good deal for the food pantry!
3) And this last one is just silly- we want some of those spider webs (.99 with the 7-day coupon) for our Halloween decorations.

I’m with you on the empty list. I don’t see anything worth stopping by the store. Unless…they were to get some stock on the FAR items. I didn’t use my own advice and get them on the Double dipping days, so now I seem to have missed out.

If you need Ibuprofen it turns out to be a moneymaker! Using the Pharmacy Coupon Booklet’s (see p.57 in ESC) coupon for $2/1, buy 3 Walgreen’s Ibuprofen 200 caplets (see p. 51 ESC) on sale this week at 3/10 w/$5 ESR. My cashier gave me $2 off of each so I ended up paying only $4 total and will get $5 +10% back! Sweet

The skippy coupons are .60/1 from the 8/17/08 RP insert. And there is a .50/1 in the 10/5/08 RP.

I just got back from my shopping trip. I got Dove soap (I sooo needed a deal on bar soap!), Skippy, Hellmans, Robitussin, Dimetapp, Kotex, foil, FAR Rimmel foundation (finally found my color!), Butterball chicken stock, & free Crest toothpaste (it was still on sale!). It was a very successful shopping trip. They had everything I wanted in stock! Amazing!! And I so love my WAG. The employees there are great!! They make my 70 mile round trip (with my 4 kids in tow) worth it!!

who knows the story on buy $15 get $5RR, twice in the past when i have tried to do a deal where it had to be a certain amount, and i brought the total below $15 with coupons or by using RRs, the new RR did not print. And I asked corporate for an explaination so I could understand the process and it was quite a runaround without an answer. so the next time i braved a $30 purchase get $10 RR, on the clean and clear with those incredible coupons and a $10 off 30 walgeens coupon, i made sure my total was $40 before the extra 10 so i would be sure to get the $10 RR on a $30 purchase, because there were so many transactions it would have been crazy to have them cancel the order. so i have not tired this again. Has anyone made it work with coupons or RRs, to bring the total below $15? someone above mentioned doing the peanut butter deal , with coupons, and that is the deal i could never make work.

I picked up several items because I had about $30 in RR that expired today. I got two rolls of bounty paper towels, 4 Jane lip glosses (they were bogo, and I had two $2 coupons, making them 2 for 1.99), I got the scrubbing bubbles action scrubber starter kit for the MIR, (i didn’t get to wags last week so I missed out on all the scrubbing bubbles deals). I also got a few other items. I spent $20 out of pocket and saved over $75.

I did the buy $15 get $5RR with peanut butter and mayo last night. I got it just over $15 (like $15.50) and then I used coupons and my total was $12.40. I did this twice and my RR printed both times, no problem.

My list is huge. I am so torn between going today and Friday. I’m just afraid I’ll wait for a coupon and none will show up so I’m running the risk of them being out of stock on something.

Off the top of my head, here’s what I need/am getting:
Jane FAR (BOGO and $2 manu so moneymaker plus a second free item)
Covergirl BOGO1/2 (have 3 buy foundation get free face product q’s plus a mountain of 1/1 manus, still trying to do the math on this one for aquasmooth foundation compact and lash blast mascara)
Unilever food (maybe. my ragu q’s require pasta purchase and if I do this at walmart instead, i can get ronzoni smartaste pasta for 50 cents so it might work out better there)(Hyvee also has this same deal and it includes Wishbone and some other brands)
Bic comfort 3 razors
Robitussin and Dimetapp
Renuzit spray and adjustables (so many q’s my head is spinning)
W brand Ibuprofen for rebate(w/rx q)
Glade scented oil refill (w/2 BOGO coupons makes it FAR)
Woolite oxy cleaner spray BOGO w/ $2 manus (my cat peed outside the box for the first time in 5 years, in the middle of my bed this morning. Gotta get her to the vet I guess, I have no clue what’s going on)
Ban 2/3 if I need a filler b/c this is the cheapest I’ve found it and there were no manu’s in my paper this weekend

I think that’s all. Whew!

I also wanted to mention, in case I was the only one who noticed, that there were printable coupons in this week’s walgreens email for medicines. They are $2/each for:

Tylenol Rapid release gels 100ct
Tylenol PM extra strength rapid release gels 80 ct
Tylenol Arthritis pain 100ct
St. Joseph aspirin 180ct
Motrin IB 100ct
Children’s Tylenol or Motrin 4oz

The terms say ‘not valid with any other offer’ so you probably can’t use manus with them (darn!) . And they’re not the sizes for the RR deals (except the children’s) but in case anyone needed them.

Reagan is right- the Skippy Qs are from 8/17 and 10/5 RPs… only my 10/5 Qs are .40/1. GRRR. I have a scenario with the Ragu that puts 9 items at…ooh shoot, I forgot- but it’s like .85/item? Something like that, definitely a good deal and I’m excited to be making such a big contribution to the food pantry.

Of course, I was looking at my circular this morning and just HAD to add some more items to my list… the Hershey’s bars for .39 (7-day Q)- I think we can use the B1G1F Special Dark from a couple of weeks ago? (I’m going to try it.) And I found another Oral-B toothbrush Q so I’m going to do the RR deal again.

I’ve had my eye on those pumpkin lights, too.

I got diapers 5.99 plus I have the RX card so I get back 10%
I also got the arm and hammer detergent for 2.99 on sale $1 rebate plus go to the arm & hammer webisite and get $1 q which makes it .99.

I am going to buy these diapers, but try it with adding the $2 off diaper coupon that is in the Rx brochure. I’ve been collecting them and saving for when there is a good sale. Now is the time to use them I don’t know if it will work for sure because the coupon says it is for regular prices only, but it has worked for others in the past, so wish me luck for getting cheap diapers!

OH yea, and I don’t understand “get 10% back” That sounds awesome and I need to look into that if I will be buying more diapers there on a regular basis. I’ve pretty much only been getting CVS and Wags diapers since summer.

NB: I love love love the WAGS diapers. Will not use anything else from here on. I got 40 packs for 1.50 each back in July and still have 20-ish. I am waiting for them to go lower than $6 each so I can use my rx coupon again for more, but it’s so nice not to have to chase sales all the time. I am stocked up!

So my total OOP from this trip was $20.69. I have 4.50 in leftover RR’s (had to run to the car and get my change bag, toothbrush trans was voided but cashier was nice and gave me the RR from it anyway) plus $5 in ESR for the W brand medicine, plus the Arm and Hammer spray has a try me free MIR of up to 3.20 (so I paid $0.09 for it) making my REAL OOP $7.99. For…$130 worth of stuff? That’s a quick tally in my head.

For anyone who is interested, the buy one get one half off on the cosmetics worked perfectly. They don’t take the 1/2 off until AFTER all other coupons, so I got my blush free with purchase of foundation, I used my $1 manu on the foundation, and they still took 2.49 off at the end for half off the blush. So 8.99+4.49-1-4.49-2.49=5.50 for foundation and blush. Not stellar but not bad either, since I needed both.

I’m going back today for aluminum foil & more Arm & Hammer laundry detergent! It’s my brand and a great price. It says limit 1, does anyone know if that means just for the rebate, or for the sale price too? I’ll do my transactions separately if need be, but that can be a pain.
I also got some Autumn candy for my Canadian Thanksgiving dinner this past Monday (I’m a transplant) and Lip Smackers for my Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes!
And of course I picked up the Glade Wisp, and 4oz jar candles… how could I leave it on the shelf?

The $2 off diaper coupon (from Rx booklet) worked with the $5.99 sale! I only needed 1 coupon to get 3 packs. Will go back to another store as I took the rest that they had. Works out to be about 11 cents per diaper!

@Marin: The Arm & Hammer Limit of 1 is for the Rebate. But then again, your store can impose their own Limits.
