Two weeks in a ROW!!! I’m excited! Knew I procastinated for a reason!
Briana @ Bargain Briana´s last blog post..A Walgreens Funny….
Shoot! I bought all my stuff already! to bad they dont have them through Sunday, I am already geared up for next week.
I didn’t expect it this week. I thought next week would have been more of a possibility. I guess not…Walgreens sure likes to SURPRISE!
If only I can find the Gazelle Vacuum on clearance for $20!
I KNOW! When ever these come out AFTER I have already done my weekly run I am so bummed!
Erin - my WAGs assistant manager told me last Saturday that I can get the Sunday sales on Saturday afternoon - that they have already gone into effect at the registers! I don’t know what time in the afternoon they “click” on, but I have read elsewhere that it might be at 2p. Not sure if the RR deals work then too or if they only work once Sunday morning rolls around… but I was going to try it myself this Saturday and see! Maybe I will be able to get a sort of weekly overlap out of it - deals from the week ending and deals from the week starting with the same $/$$ coupon!
@Cynthia: I have a scheduled “Couponing Lesson” asking about the Sunday sales starting on Saturday afternoon, for tomorrow. I’m curious about this too!
Please comment when that post appears tomorrow morning
I’m sure others are very curious.
I’m planning on trying the RoC RR deal from next week’s ad this Saturday afternoon, so I will let you all know the results!
Can we do next week’s offer on Saturday afternoon? about what time? So it’s the same w/ cvs huh
Mrs. J´s last blog post..Free Museum Admission!
ok….what is RoC?
thanks for the tip. i haven’t ever tried that, but i have gone in late Sat night to pick up one last deal and they were still ringing up. the new tags were out though for sunday morning…so maybe?
I wanted to point out just in case…i was in Walgreens tonight scoping out some behind the register coupons with my awesome beauty counter lady Lisa. (they dont put the shelf coupons out because people make a mess. they just keep them at the register.) anyway…she had a stack of 1.00 off Garnier (she wouldnt let me take any, i tried-says I have to purchase to use them.lol). Then showed me a double pack that they keep on a seperate shelf with gift packs-clear across the department! Its the large Garnier Fructis Shampoo with the full size deep conditioner attached for $6.99!!!! Plus that $1 off Q + the $3 IVC= $2.99 for both! Check out your local walgreens to see if they are hiding this from you! I would have never seen it.
Also I couldnt sleep last night I was so excited. In her behind the register coupons, she has some $6 off Physicians Formula Makeup Q’s. (This is how i got hooked on their mineral powder) Normal cost $10.99. Well next week they are 40% off, plus scoring that $6 off coupon from her = 59 cents!
I heart Walgreens. You all have made me a complete maniac. haha
Erin, RoC is a skin care range: http://www.rocskincare.com I got 2 FREE Cleansers from them a few weeks back. Never tried it though.
Re: the Physician’s Formula, I’ve got $5Qs I got from Wags a few months back. It was a tearpad. Does this Q expiry in December?
So you would recommend PF? I use mainly liquid foundation but really want to give mineral makeup a try. Which type do you like the most? Is there a range? I might scoop this out…
Hey all! I am an assistant manager for Walgreens and I see you all wondering about the ad going over in to saturday night. What I do is activate it around 5 pm and I have my employees set out the ad tags ( to give enough time to put all the ad tags out) depending upon how busy the store is and how fast they can put the ads outs I would say 8 pm start your shopping then. It just depends on the manager on duty and they ususally dont put the new ads out early cause thats a big NO in some areas and they really want the new ads out before the store closes any how. So I hope that helps. Like I said it all depends on the location and how they do things.
@Patricia
she had 2 coupons. one was a $6 off any PH product, exp. 2/28/09. she only had a few left, so i am getting in there when they open early Sunday in case any other ladies in my home town get the same idea. She also had the tear pad Q’s for $5 off PF Organic Wear, exp. 6/1/09.
i stood there at the counter and wrote down all 21 of her tear pad Q’s so i can maybe pick them up later on a sale.
i hadnt tried it before either, but that it the purchase that actually hooked me on Walgreens. i went in scoping out deals on eyeshadow to compare between them and rite-aid. Lisa told me about the Q, I tried it and i have been hooked on Walgreens since.
The makeup its self is good. Mineral powder goes on like a dry foundation with a blush type brush. i think the brush feels a bit on the rough side, but you kind of need it that way for distribution on your face. it goes on even like a powder and blends easily. it lasts all day without the feel of foundation- which i never really mastered the application of. I have always stuck with powder to dull the shine, but this lasts all day. I also dont break out, its hypoallergenic. i havent tried other brands of this same type of mineral makeup. Since i havent broken out to this one, I am going to stick with it since it is comparable in price to its competators.
This makes me very happy. I was going to go yesterday (got off work early) but the baby was sleeping so I decided to pass. I have $4.50 in RRs to use and I found the extra P&G insert I thought my husband threw away so now I have more manus for the P&G deals, oral b and gilette fusion!
At work we are also getting diapers for a coworker whose son is due soon, and if I combine this with the coveted pharmacy coupon I’ll be able to get him LOTS of diapers with the $ we’ve raised!
I am obscenely excited about going to WAGS tomorrow or this evening.
Also, if the Sunday deals really do kick in on Saturday night, I am all over that, since our lovely Patricia hooks us up with the ad preview so we all know what we’re shopping for.
Apparently I’m not the only one at work excited about this coupon. I printed 3 and when I went to get them from the printer half an hour later, they were gone!
I will be spending my lunchbreak coming up with scenarios. Everyone in the breakroom looks at me like that crazy coupon lady. Oh well, I get free stuff and they don’t!
@Kristin:
So there are many other couponers around CoMo…
Good luck with your scenarios!
@Erin: I think I’ll definitely check out PF. Not that I need any new makeup…
We ususally find out a head of time before it sent out to emails about the $5 off $20 coupon. If I find out if they are going to do it again I will let you all know. Just remember about the RRs ( dont do too many mfc on that product(s) or it wont print out. If it says spend 25$ on that product and get $5 RRs using the coupons lowers the price down and it will recongnize that you did not spend that much on it and wont print out) Another heads up : Only one register reward per transaction. They will claim coupon fraud on the employee if they let the customer use more than one regsiter reward. We just got an email about that yesterday.
@Kristin
you only spend your lunch break working out scenerios? myself and another lady in our department are walgreen’s fanatics, before long I think the entire department is going to be on board and productivity is really gonna tank. lol
Monday morning …Erin says to boss “Hmmm… I need to run this to the bank.” Erin thinking… (that way I can stop in @ Walgreens on my way and pick up Febreeze!) LOL
This is disturbing… I realized I get excited about buying shampoo, toothbrushes, and bathroom cleaners. What would you call this sickness? Walgreitus? Walgreenea?
“Another heads up : Only one register reward per transaction. They will claim coupon fraud on the employee if they let the customer use more than one regsiter reward. We just got an email about that yesterday.”
What now? That could be a real problem. How is that fraud? I’ll have to look at the terms on the one I have at home…
They told me one register reward per transaction a few months back. I said, okay, redo my order and do two transaction. More work for them. Since then, I’ve had no problem using multiple per transaction.
I don’t know how it could be fraud? Makes no sense.
Briana @ Bargain Briana´s last blog post..A Walgreens Funny….
It will coupon fraud against the employee thats why.
Oops hit enter too fast anyways. Another district got a customer complaint about not being able to use 2 of the register reward coupons in one transaction because she used to do that all the time. And by the policy for employees they cant do that cause it doesnt look good on their part and it does state one coupon per transaction. Its all a loss pervention thing. I know its stupid but there has been some in the past that let their friends get away with that so thats why.
I looked at my rr from the oral b and the only limits it states are not to be used for p and g products and purchase must exceed coupon value. Nothing limiting the use of multiples.
you know, here is what I dont get. If Walgreens doesnt want us using the RR, why are they printing them out? If they dont want us using this program, why do they have it? They know there will always be a small percentage of people who use it to its full advantage, but the vast majority dont pay attention or dont bother. Including my own mother who states “i just dont have the time” but she still shops at Walgreens paying full price, as do millions of others.
Also I would have to believe entirely that Walgreens is making money on all these deals. These “sales” are buydowns from the manufacterer, and ManQ’s, Rebates and IVC’s are all from the manufacterers of the product. Meaning the manufacterer is the one taking the loss as advertising and promotion on their product. Walgreens is getting the sale and additional business.
Also, how many times do we buy other stuff at reg. price. or this “fillers” so we can use the RR. I think Walgreens needs to remember we paid for the item to get that reward and if we use 1 or 20 in one transaction we should be able to without setting up an employee for coupon fraud. how is it fraud? we didnt steal them, we paid to have that RR, under their own terms of the deal.
Walgreens just kinda sets themselves up sometimes to tick off their customers. It’s annoying, but dont mind have 5 transactions so I can use all my rewards. I am still getting the same deal. So fraud? How are the 5 transactions any different than one big one? The guy behind me waiting to check out, is the one getting mad waiting on me.
