Sep 4, 2008
Author: Patricia | Filed under: Giveaways
Another drumroll please…

This month you can win the following items:
- Biore Detoxify Daily Scrub - thanks to the Biore RR deal I did a couple of weeks ago. I went a little overboard with this deal and have a heap of face scrubs I can spare. I’m keeping all my Biore cleansers though

- Jane Make-up Brush - thanks to the August FAR rebate deal
- (2) Biore $2 off coupon - I got these from trades. I have a tonne so I want to spread the Biore love
- $50 Walgreens Pharmacy coupon booklet - I got a spare one of these. I know some Wags don’t readily give this coupon booklet out so here’s your chance to grab one!
How to enter:
- Share a Walgreens story! It can be aboout your best Wags trip. Your worse Wags trip even. Or tell me whether your Wags store is coupon-friendly or not. Any other quirky stories - do you have a favorite cashier/your shopping routine/any secret ways to shop better? What you think of Walgreens in general. Whatever. as long as it’s Wags related!
- Recommend a blog to me. I love bloggers. In particular I’m always in search of photography blogs, fashion blogs, DIY blogs or cooking blogs (especially if it’s about cupcakes!). You can recommend up to 5 blogs (just make sure you leave a separate comment for each blog you plug).
- Give feedback on “From Wags to Riches”! What would you like to see more/less of? Do you want more color? Is there too many Google ads? What do you like/love/adore most about this blog? Anything goes!
- Plug this blog to your family/friends/the rest of the world! Post about it on your blog. Post about it on a forum where you think others will benefit. Use the ShareThis button below. Stumble It! Do whatever you want to plug it! (as long as it’s legal)

There’s your four chances to enter. Remember to leave a comment for each type of entry so when it comes time to pick the winners (via random.org), all your entries are counted accordingly!
This giveaway will run until Sunday, September 28th at 5pm Central Time. Good luck!
Disclaimer: This giveaway is no way sponsored by Biore, Jane or Walgreens. It’s just by little ol’ me!
The Legal Stuff: US entries only, Winner will be chosen via random.org at the end of the contest. Please leave a valid email address or blog address so you can be contacted. Winner has 72 hours to claim their prize. This contests ends at 5:00 pm CST on September 28th, 2008.

ok. ok. so i am greedy now since i won the last one, but i am obsessed with biore and my hubby won’t let me buy it when there is “perfectly fine cvs brand face wash”. buh
so i couldn’t pass this up.
we have about 4-5 wags in town. but my favorite is the one by one of the hospitals. it’s open 24 hrs and the cashier in the beauty department rocks! she tries to find coupons for us out of the ones she has at the register, makes sure we check in the easy saver, if she can’t find us coupons she gives us extras “for next time”, etc. we will be on first name basis soon.

i post numerous links to your wags deals in my weekly deals postings. i used to sort the deals out myself, but now that i’m in school again i don’t have time. i make a consolidated listing of blog links to deals and coupon match-ups. you will be showing up again around the 7th when the next ad week begins.

I havent been doing Walgreens for that long, but I recently got over $60 worth of stuff for free, along with $15 in overages! That was last weekend during the $10/$40 deal.

I think I’ll have to enter more than once, too!
My first entry is a feedback. I usually read your blog via Google Reader, but I’m on-site today! I like the white background and your header. All-in-all, the site looks clean and easy to read. Some of your items on the sidebar seem excessive or unnecessary. I’m undecided on the Flickr photostream. On one hand, it’s nice to see pictures of deals your getting. On the other hand, I already see them when I read your posts. I’m also not sure if I like the date and time things.
These don’t really impact, though, since, like I said, I read through Google. The content is great! Keep it up! (and THAT’S the important part, right?!?)

I just Stumbled your blog!!!
Becky@FamilyandFinancess last blog post..Meeting Davy Jones
I’ve just started going to WAGS for a month and on Friday, my coupon binder was stolen!!! DH left it on the cart then another woman quicky took the cart out of the store upon seing the coupon holder. I had tons of coupons out there and I was so upset that it was stolen! The wags manager reviewed their surveillance cam and we just all found out what happened. they dont have any cams outside the store and there was no way of knowing the identity of the woman…. So yeah im here to win the giveaway
I like your blog coz it looks very neat and you have great photos. My suggestion is to put more color because it looks “washed out” and bigger font for your blog title. I hope that helps. Your blog is great though! Also, I think it’s nicer if you put all your ads in 1 column so as not to confuse us. Thanks
Mrs. Js last blog post..Confession
Hi it’s me again. I recommend savekaryn.com. It’s not a frugal blog but I think she’s funny!
Mrs. Js last blog post..Confession
there is one girl at my walgreens who is a coupon momma, too, so she is always saying to me, “i’m surprised you didn’t do this or that deal”…but the funniest is one day when she was ringing me up and the manager was standing there (even though he could have been ringing up others) because he was excited to see how much i saved (which was a lot—it came to 114 before coupons and then i paid 60 oop, but will be getting 50 something back on my giftcard. it always amazes me when the cashiers give people a hard time about couponing–what’s it to them anyway?
I’ve always had good experiences with the people who work at Walgreens. Last weekend I used the $10/$40 and had miscalculated how much I was purchasing. I was a little under $40 before tax, but the cashier worked it so I could still use the coupon
Funny Walgreens Story
Remember a few weeks ago when all the school supplies were priced at almost free? Of course, when I finally had the chance to get to Walgreens, they were out of everything that I wanted to buy. The friendly clerk that works the cosmetics counter informed me that she could give me a rain check on each item. YAY!!
Funny (or not so funny at the time)
I left the rain checks in the bag and accidentally threw them in the TRASH! Can you believe that?? And I’m not even going to tell you how long it took to get all those rain checks written out.

I also posted it on my blog:

I usually go to WAGs without my husband, but he loves to tell about one trip he went with me and the total for 4 bags of Hershey Bliss, 4 packs of gum and a bag of Gummy Bears came to -$0.02 - yes, that’s *negative* two cents! LOL! The cashier’s mouth dropped open, and I quickly told my husband to get another item to bring the total up.
I am in love with my local WAGs. It is only four blocks away, and it is a small store, but I have a friendly relationship with all the staff including the store managers. I worked really hard at remembering people’s names there, and would greet them by name when I was shopping. It made all the difference - everyone warmed up to me and really goes the mile to help me, even when I have to ring up my stuff in 8 different transactions… LOL.
I shared your blog with my local WAGs store manager yesterday. He didn’t know that there were WAGs specific blogs and wanted to know about them.
Now he knows my secret sources and why I come in with all the right coupons!!
I enjoy this frugal food blog: http://frugalcuisine.blogspot.com/. I only wish Pepper could/would post more often.
When WAGs is out of what I’m looking for, I hate just picking out something because the RR is expiring so I keep a list of things I need to stock up on in my coupon binder. If WAGs is out of what’s on my list, or I need a filler item, I review my stock up list for ideas. This way I don’t feel like I wasted my RR (even if I didn’t get the best deal on the item, at least it was something we needed.)
I love your blog and I put you in my “favorites” list on my own blog!

My favorite Walgreens is only about a mile from my house. I have a favorite cashier named Nancy who is the sweetest cashier I’ve ever met. She loves seeing the deals I”m getting and even gives me pointers based on things other couponer’s have done that week.
I really enjoyed my last purchase at Walgreens…. 2 Covergirl bronzers, 2 covergirl foundations, a bottle of excedrin migraine… my cost was $1.05 (which was basically just tax!) and I got 1 RR back.

I love your blog because it’s so helpful! I’m new at this whole Walgreens experience and I couldn’t do it without great bloggers like you!
I would really love to win your giveaway… looks like great stuff!!
1. My WAGS is nice enough but I swear they all roll their eyes and try to hide in back when I come in
They have the BEST clearance ever (like the packs of Pull Ups I scored for $2 a few weeks ago) so I just can’t stay away.
2. Every couponer should check out jane4Girls blog- she is amazing.
3. I think you are doing great– might be nice to fit more deals on each page though.
I love Walgreens. My son calls it the candy store because he says there is soo much candy there! One time a cashier gave me $20.00 too much and I brought it back in, since then she always if finding coupons for me and helping me find bargains in the store. LOVE Walgreens!

My best trip at Wags was probably when I used overage from the recent Preparation H deal to get a bunch of stuff for 8 cents. I also enjoyed the recent deal they had where you could get a roll of film developed for free.

I like this site! I found you through Deal Seeking Mom’s giveaway linky. I love the name, and you have very detailed WAGs info - love it! I love the heads up on the vacuum thing, I hadn’t seen that yet! I will check my store for sure and see if I luck out, because I need a new vacuum. I have a story that just happened to me Thursday at my local Walgreens. I had just gotten to the store when I heard an employee say “I’m getting 3. One for me, my sister, and my brother.” I said I’ll take one , too, not knowing what it was. Turns out it was the Magic Bullet, on clearance for 15.49. My husband was thrilled. Thanks for the giveaway.

The manager was checking me out as I was doing the scrubbing bubbles deal, and I had also thrown in the free chex mix. This week when I went to WAGS to cash in on the Robitussin deal, my RR that printed was only for $5. When I questioned it, the cashier tried to say that the coupons I used invalidated the “deal”, but if I insisted, she would call the manager. It turned out that one type of the Robitussin was in the computer wrong and was ringing up for $3.19 instead of the advertised $3.99. Normally, I would not complain about something ringing up for less than it is supposed to, but it was costing me $5!!! The manager returned all three Robitussin for me and then rang them up correctly.

Oh my! We LOVE this scrub!!!
OK, my best Wag’s trip was a few weeks ago when I came home with five free packs of wipes, five free boxes of Cheerio’s and five almost free jars of peanut butter. That was fun! The cashier didn’t seem to think it was as fun as I did. I think she was totally freaked out that she was going to get in trouble for giving away so much stuff.
Blessings,
Courtney
I’m new to all this, but I’d love to win some of this stuff, especially the face scrub and the Wag coupon book. I made my first foray into Walgreens today, and had a blast buying about $30 worth of stuff for about $4!!! It’s got me addicted! So here’s to me winning!
I have learned to go to Wags in the evening. There is a sweet cashier there. Once I went in with my five small children -one of which did gymnastics in the floor, fell and hit his head:(. She was so helpful. She said What else is on your list then walked me around to all the things on my list and helped me make sure I was getting the right things! I’ve only been doing this since May-so I really appreciate it! It was like having a personal shopper at Walgreens!

Walgreen’s Story: I have noticed that frequently when there is a special at Walgreens (maybe one with a clip out coupon for seasonal items), there may be a very very small supply of the featured items. In fact, I have sometimes had a hard time locating the special items since there are so few of them in a mass of other items. So - based on my experience - shop very early as soon as the ad comes out - or you may lose out! Happy shopping!
The last time I went to WAGs the nice cashier had a stack of coupons behind the counter to help customers out! how nice!
I started doing deals at Walgreens about 10 months ago. I love the way I can really stretch my dollars there.
My stores have recently stopped giving RR’s on deals when you use manufactured coupons, so that has been a bit of a bummer. I haven’t yet called corporate about this but plan to next week!

Well so far my best WAGS week was last week after I found your blog! (thanks Alyssa at Keeping the Kingdom First) I did the scrubbing bubbles deal, the crest pro health mouthwash 2x, and the wythe deal twice! When I did the first wythe deal the cashier said “wow those are great coupons” and then when I got 10 in RR he said “dang girl you straight!” which my 15 yo tells me is a good thing! I have tons of RR now. Yay! Now I am going to use those RRs to get some of the FAR items that I have not gotten yet this month. I have 2 WAGS close to me and I like them both! Thanks for this awesome website!

I shop at Walgreens all the time. I also do Mystery Shops there all the time. I sometimes feel like a traitor if I have to bust somebody. But they are generally pretty “well behaved”.
I absolutely, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your website. I don’t think I’d change anything. It is VERY helpful, and I’ve only known about it for 2 weeks. My funny story from my Wags. We have a home school group who is going to be having a class on learning how to coupon at places like Wags. We’ll the one cashier (MAN) wants to come to our moms meeting. He asked if we were part of a club and he wanted to be in!!! We’ll the more the merrier!
He is the best cashier and knows how to work the register to get things just right! Again, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your website! And LOVE WAGS!!!
I just went to Walgreens for the first time the other day. I saved so much thanks to their rebates and register rewards. They now have a new convert.
I have been a huge CVS fan for almost a year mainly because believe it or not my Walgreens refuse to take Internet Printed coupons. I think this is very odd for 2 reasons one Walgreen promotes internet coupons on there website and two it seems my town is the only one who doesn’t take them. But lately CVS has changed their game so much and Walgreen’s seems to be getting better I have jumped ship to Walgreen’s. Now if only they would take interent coupons I would be good.
I love your website! I stumbled upon it last week and have been reading it every day since. I am new to the whole couponing thing and shopping at Walgreens… but I am hooked! I love getting free stuff! Thanks for all the good info.
I love that you are so dedicated to helping everyone get a good deal at Walgreens!
Just started at Wags, great info. I haven’t had trouble with the Q’s going through at the register, thanks!

Here is my funny, falling on my bottom story, from Walgreens. It is a big reason why I have not been a drugstore coupon queen in a while…it is tough shopping with lil ones! lol -Bella
I was going to blog it all out…but did not get around to it…essentially, I was checking out at Walgreens and Robert RAN OUT OF THE DANG DOOR…why do they have that door so close to the check out? So, I had to go get him, bring him back, apologize to the cashier for screaming in his ear, lol…and then as I am at the cart, holding his hand on the handle, he starts to pull himself down to the floor…and I have no idea what happened, but as I started falling, it was like I was in slow motion, although at my weight, I highly doubt that I fell slowly, lol…and once I went plunk on the floor, I just remember thinking how bright their ceiling was, lol..then I just got up, and tried to act as dignified as one could in such a situation…oh this child!!!
And, he also got us locked out of the theater the other day…but that is a whole new blog or comment…
I think watching footage of me and Robert in action would be a good addition to the sex education classes at school.
No more babies for me!!!!

I am new to the walgreens thing so when I went to use my coupons I wasn’t aware of the rule have as many items as you do coupons. Well the manager came out and tried to help but he couldn’t get them to scan either. I told him that was ok I would not purchase the product at this time and he took $2.00 (the amount of coupon) out of his pocket and gave it to me. I refused like 5 times and he put it in my bag. I walked out sooo embarrased but thought after wards he was rally trying to keep a customer. SO even though I was embarrased he meant well. (I think)
I just started really hitting up Walgreens every week - before I did it only once a month for the FAR items. I think I still like CVS better for their ECB program…there are just too many limitations of RRs and it’s such a mess that half the time their employees don’t know what to do with them. But they’re all over the place here, so I’ve got literally a choice of 10 Walgreens that are on the way to various places that I have to go anyway, so I’m starting to know which stores to avoid and all that.

Well, most of the time I don’t really see your blog since I’m subscribed by RSS feed. But I really like the little comment header stars that you have…it’s so cute. This is my first month at wags so it is somewhat of a learning experience. The closest one is about 10-15 minutes away so I can’t take a quick trip but hopefully soon we will have one in our town. So after my first experience it is really fun to get paid to shop. The store is new and doesn’t always have what is on sale but I am used to that with CVS. My best experience was when I got 3 12pk of pepsi, 1 pk of 9roll tp, 3 advil, 3 dimetapp, nivea body wash, vacuum bag, 4 ghirardelli bars and two bottles of visine and after RR and rebates will pay less then 8 oop for all of it. yeah. Thanks so much for sharing your experience and wisdom I am enjoying this site and it is helping me save money.
I have just started Wags so before I go I make sure I check your blog so I don’t mess up. Thank goodness my wags clerks are pretty nice.

I’m pretty new at couponing. But I made a transaction last month @ WAGS. Using my 10$ off 40$. I then bought 2 glade scented oil candles. 2 glade scented oil candle refills 4 glade plugins 1 revlon nailpolish 1 mens nivea body wash and 1 chemistry shampoo. Used 1 bogo for oil candles also 2 $ easy saver rebate. 2 bogo oil candle refills and 1$ easy saver coupon plus 1$ mfc. 1esr for nailpolish-free 1 esr-nivea body wash. 1-esr chemistry shampoo. Totaling 11.36.
It was awesome
